October 10th is World Mental Health Day. In recognition of this Avi Grace sits down with Paige Vaccaro who is a mom, educator, poet, and activist. Paige tells the story of how working in gardens helped her heal her own Mental Health while also getting her community involved in gardening and excited about fresh food. This discussion about Mental Health includes personal accounts, observations, and poetry written while overcoming mental health challenges. Paige Vaccaro founded a community gardening organization called C.R.O.P.S. (Communities Revolutionizing Open Public Spaces) based in Southern Jersey.  She is also active in her local and national poetry scenes. Paige is the co-host of, “Black Poetry Matters,” a bi-monthly virtual open mic poetry showcase that is streamed lived on the Black Poetry Matters South Jersey Facebook page.
