For State The Avious’ Kwanzaa 2020 Imani finale celebration Avi Grace welcomes a poet who simply goes by “Kenji” and Goddess Angela Carter to the State the Avious microphone. The celebration begins with Kenji offering a soulful poem called, “Letter to Imani”. In the piece the poet reflects on the joys and sorrows of their 2020 experience and the wisdom they have garnered along the way.

The episode continues with a conversation between Avi Grace and Goddess Angela Carter. This is Goddess Angela’s first year celebrating Kwanzaa, and she reflects on the festivities so far and what this experience has given her. Goddess Angela went on to reflect on the blessings and strength she has received throughout this year and her focus for the future.

The Poet Kenji is currently based in Arizona, and is an accomplished writer and poetic speaker.

Goddess Angela Carter (She/Her) is a wife, mother, grandmother, minister, community organizer, author, entrepreneur, and clothing designer. She is the Founding Director of non-profit that works for the benefit of Lupus patients. She was also recently ordained in the City Church of Charlotte and in October 2020, Goddess married the love her life Naji.
