Hello to you listening in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Maybe like me you’ve asked for help from a friend or loved one and they said, “Tie a knot in the end of your rope and hold on to that.”

It’s a good bit of help. With enough rope to tie a knot and enough strength to hold on you'll probably be okay. But what if there’s nothing to hold on to?

I remember being on an Outward Bound mountaineering trip high in the Canadian Rockies with 5 other women. In pairs we were climbing up and then rappelling down the sheer face of a mountain. The guides were far above us and out of sight having climbed beyond a cliff edge to secure the ropes. Caught midway between the top of the cliff edge and the rocky ground far below my partner, with fear in her voice, stammered out: “I can't find anything to hold on to.” Time passed. And then a voice from far above us called down, “Grab it with both hands!”

I’m here to tell you it worked! My partner found the help she was looking for: inside herself. When you can’t find anything to hold on to, grab it with both hands.

You’re invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, follow, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time!
