Hello to you listening in Rio Tinto, Spain!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday.

Maybe like me you’re challenged by Monkey Mind: that restless, unsettling jibbering part of your brain that becomes easily distracted, making your feel like you’re going crazy. You’re not crazy. Monkey Mind is simply an annoying thought process, a habit of pretty useless mental chatter that interferes with getting something done.

One of the most effective things we can do when Monkey Mind shows up is to pause and breathe. When we pause and take three mindful or conscious breaths we invite space into our mind.

When we invite space into our mind there is less room for worry, anxiety, fear, uncertainty. We can actually experience calm in the sacredness of the space we create for ourselves.

Practical Tip: When Monkey Mind shows up send it away. Pause, breathe, smile. Connect with the calming power of breath. Return to what you were doing.

60 Seconds is your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that. This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic. Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, follow, share a nice shout out on your social media or podcast channel of choice, including Android, and join us next time! You’re invited to stop by the website and subscribe to stay current with Diane, her journeys, her guests, as well as creativity, imagination, walking, stories, camaraderie, and so much more: Quarter Moon Story Arts
