60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday: What Will It Take for You to Leave Your Valley of Comfort Zone? - a podcast by Diane F. Wyzga

Hello and thank you to my friend and colleague Sam Ardery listening in Bloomington, Indiana! 

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories from Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Maybe it’s true and maybe it isn’t but once there lived a woman in a small valley who was known for her weaving. Her artful weavings were purchased and displayed and celebrated by the people in that valley and those who came from away to visit that place.

One day a man who’d heard of her remarkable weaving skills traveled across the mountains to invite the weaver to return with him to his valley. But she declined. He said, there are many more people there and opportunities. No, she said. We have many more visitors, too. No, she said. You will make so much more money. No, she said.

What is it, then? Why not come with me? Because, here in this valley I am well regarded as a skillful weaver. But if I were to leave and go to another place I might learn I am not as skillful as I think. Why would I ask for that kind of lesson?

Story Prompt: What will entice you to leave your valley, your comfort zone and learn what you will come what may? Write that story!
