Hello to you listening in Orem, Utah!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Thoughts on Thursday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Maybe like me there are days when you feel you’ve been beating your head against the wall battling barriers and boundaries and getting nowhere. Why bother? It’s just not worth chewing through the restraints. What do I mean? Years ago my therapist said, “Diane, if you were a wolf you’d chew off your foot so you wouldn’t stay caught in the trap.” She was right. Freedom and independence have been hallmarks of my life.

So what do we do on those days when it just doesn’t seem worth it to struggle against the restraints?

Practical Tip: Create your own freedom: take a step back, breathe deeply, look around at what you’ve achieved, find contentment in that, enjoy a moment of stillness and let it all go. The restraints will disappear. It works. I know.
