Hello to you listening in Yucca Valley, California!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday.

At his retreats you would see my Zen Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh ask all the children to come and sit with him.

This was his way of inviting the children to hear a short Dharma talk before he excused them to their activities and spoke to all the adults in the retreat hall.

I remember one of his questions to the children: "Why do we wash the dishes?"

Of course they’d respond with answers like, “To clean them.” “To help our parents.” “My sister made me do it.”

Thay would smile and say, “These are all good answers; and the real reason we wash dishes is to wash dishes. For the experience of it.”

Question: As the rush of the HolidaZed Season ebbs and we look to Begin Anew in 2022, how can we Be. Here. Now. in the experience of any moment simply for the sake of it?
