Hello to you listening in Almaty, Kazakhstan

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

For decades now my family has celebrated December 6th as the Feast of Saint Nicholas; a reminder that Christmas is on its way and someone is watching us - from a distance. On the night of the 5th we each set a pair of shoes or slippers outside our bedroom door and on the morning of the 6th we awoke to find a small gift left by Saint Nicholas himself.

But what if it isn’t enough of a gift? What if we still have concerns, anxieties, worries about assets, resources, and the like. I know this place. And even though I left my rock of poverty on the Cruz de Fero when I was a pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago, I can feel a sense of lack, unreasonable as that may seem. Now what?

Practical Tip: Begin to think of everything you are grateful for, appreciative of, beginning with “A” the first letter of the alphabet and see how far you get. I’ve not been able to make it past D. What about you?  What does your Gratitude Alphabet sound like?
