Hello to you listening in Fairhaven, Washington!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey and your host, Diane Wyzga.

Humans are not meant to squirrel away in offices and cars, in front of computers, heads bent to glowing devices. Humans are intended for Nature! What are you doing wasting your precious life with one more task, one more social media ping, one more email.

Nature is elemental. Nature is offering all She is and all She has for our benefit. Take part before it’s gone and we wonder what happened to clear skies, wading in tide pools, looking up to claim the stars in the Milky Way, hiking far from the bustling crowds.

A place I call home are the old growth forests on my island. Nothing is quite so still as an old growth forest. When I walk the stillness deep in the woods beckons me to stop and listen. The stillness asks if I can hear the immense power and depth of silence. I am reminded that all sounds arise from silence and fade back into silence.

When we take the time to stop and experience the silence we calm our mind, still the crazy chatter. Stay here as long as you can. Allow silence. Tune in to your intuition, hear your heartbeat, feel the blood coursing in your fingertips, and sense the steadiness of your breath coming and going easily. Tell yourself that you are alive and connected to all beings.

Question: How does it feel to know that you are one with Nature? How does it feel to vibrate in tune with stillness?
