Hello to you Mariah and Byron Edgington listening in Iowa City, Iowa

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey.

Snow storms visited our island over the HoliDazed and since we no longer get the deep snows of earlier decades, you can imagine we welcomed the gift.

We were deeply snowed in. Icy roads. Car at the bottom of the hill going nowhere. What to do?

Sit in the rocker by the window, hold your coffee cup and observe.

Walk snowy woods with your sister and imagine you’ve entered Narnia.

Step outside and listen to the quiet, the solitude, while breathing frosty air.

Sit and be stirred by music that is more than a backdrop to conversation.

Cook, read, work on a puzzle.

Invite the council of spiritual peers and guardians.

Sleep well and dream.

Above all, abandon the grid, the devices, the emails; let them pile like snowdrifts which by and by will be only a memory.

60 Seconds is your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that. This is the place to thrive together. Come for the stories - stay for the magic.
