Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey.  

Recently my friend and colleague David E. Marlowe was reminiscing about change, what’s changed, how much has changed, and who we’ve become amidst the change. I mentioned that here on Whidbey time has not stood still quite so much as it continues to maintain some of the old ways.

Case in point. Not too very far from where I live there are three telephone booths. One is on Route 525, a 2 lane highway, near Classic Road. The other is over at South Whidbey State Park. And a third is in the parking lot at the Greenbank Pantry and Deli. All clean and in good working order.

I mention this because one of the many things that endears me to my adopted home is keeping some of the old ways. And the older I get the happier I am to see something familiar, something from the past. You never know when something old might be new again.
