As long-time storyteller I’ve had many opportunities over the decades to learn about and use the power of the pause. I’ve come to know that inviting the space of silence in a story creates an opportunity for teller and audience to rest, live and breathe inside the story. My job as a teller is not to rocket along to the end, but to invite coming together in the beating heart of the story. To inhabit the story world as one. That’s where the “sorcery of stories” takes place.

Story Prompt: Take a moment to Pause. Be. Here. Now. As long as it takes. Feel what happens. Now, who have you become? Write that story!

Practical Tip: The magic of stories is also in the sharing. If you wish share your story with someone or something.   All that matters is you have a story.
