:: ::

The 2021 High School Baseball season was a challenge for all parties, and no group of people were impacted like assigners. Please join CB, Trav and ENak in our roundtable discussion with 5 assigners from across the country:

  • Mark Clough - Northwest Baseball Umpires Association (WA)

  • Scooter Morrison - A-1 Sports Officials (FL)

  • Phil Porter - River Cities Baseball Umpires Association (WV and OH)

  • Steve Wanamaker - Orange County Baseball Umpires Association (CA)

  • Eric Nakagawa - North East Bay Umpires Association (CA)

We talk about the timing of the 2021 baseball season and the conflicts with simultaneous/overlapping other sports, COVID-19 protocols, the completely unsettled game schedules, and drastically reduced number of available officials. We also thanked the "warriors" who helped carry the season to successful conclusions, and different strategies in recruiting new officials and retaining the current roster members.
