In 2013, Co-host Tyler Breuer interviewed Legendary Surfer, Former World Champion, and author, Shaun Tomson in front of a live audience as a fundraiser for the Surfrider Foundation. In this episode, we dig into our archives. Our distinguished guest amassed 19 Professional Wins, 1977 World Champion. He was the cutting edge tube rider in an era where Tube riding was the pinnacle of surfing, the Free Ride Generation, Owner and operator of major surf brands such as Instinct and Solitude. He is a motivational speaker and to quote Fred Hemmings, “the super stud of surfing”? To Quote Matt Warshaw: “He was “The complete Package”: Bright and earnest, polite and dependable, a deadly serious competitor who was never anything less than a perfect sportsman. All that , plus he had an aristocratic blow-dried handsomness that earned him modeling assignments from Calvin Klein to GQ.
This interview covers the span of this career and personal struggles. It's in-depth look at one of surfings greatest ambassadors.

We also are promoting a fundraising effort to support the Encyclopedia of Surfing. If you surf and you don't subscribe, you should if you care about preserving surf history and culture. Go to www.eos.com/donate/ to show your love for surf history.

Huge thank you to Laura Rubin for organizing this interview. Big thanks and shout out to Ross Cauvel for recording the event.
