Surfing in the Time of Coronavirus with Firefighters Christopher "Dorado" Gaby&John Brooks - a podcast by Wax Radio
from 2020-04-15T02:00:23
On this episode of Swell Season Surf Radio we get a first hand perspective of dealing with the Coronavirus from our former guest, FDNY Capt. Christopher "Dorado" Gaby. He has been on the force for over 20 years and says he hasn't seen anything like this pandemic. We discuss the impacts of the Coronavirus and whether to surf or not surf? On the flip side of the conversation, we FaceTime with Florida Firefighter and Florida Surf Film Fest organizer John Brooks to discuss his community’s attempt to open their beaches to surfing during this pandemic. John believes there is a way by working with the community and the local government to find a middle ground and allow them to surf. We explore what that looks like and then get into the direction of the Florida Surf Film Festival and how they are looking towards their festival, post pandemic. "Surfing in the time of Coronavirus" is an ongoing series looking at the pandemic through a surfing perspective.
We want to thank all of the care and aid workers, everyone who is doing their part, the employees of the supermarkets and all other essential businesses staying opened! Thank you!
