After a stellar playing career at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, and then at John Carroll University, Artie Taylor has spent a career in coaching.  A passion that exploded during his final year of college led to a position as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Defiance College, a brief stint as the Junior Varsity basketball coach at Cardinal Ritter High School (Indianapolis), and then to Wittenberg University where Coach Taylor spent 6 seasons under Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame member Bill Brown.  In 2007, at the age of 31, he was hired as the Head Coach at Ohio Dominican University.  Following a jump from NAIA to NCAA Division II, and after 7 years leading the ODU program,  Artie was dismissed.  After persevering through the struggle of the painful disappointment of being fired, Coach Taylor by his own admission, reconnected with his "why" in coaching and was given the opportunity to lead the program at The Wellington School near Columbus, Ohio.  To say that the program has been successful would be an understatement.  Since taking over in 2014, he has led the Jaguars to the state Final Four twice.  The wins are secondary to the process and Coach Taylor is committed to keeping it that way.  Please enjoy my conversation with Artie Taylor.
