Andy Bucheit is set to begin his 11th season at the helm for Heidelberg University in 2023. Coach Bucheit played 4 years of college basketball at Wittenberg University, and began his college coaching journey as a volunteer assistant to legendary coach Bill Brown, at his alma mater in 2005. The following year, the Cincinnati, Ohio native became a graduate assistant at Ashland University, where he worked under Coach Roger Lyons for two seasons before being hired as an assistant coach at Marietta College in 2008. After 5 very successful years assisting Coach Jon VanderWal, in 2013, Andy was hired to takeover the program at Heidelberg. Coach Bucheit was named Ohio Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in the COVID season of 2020-2021, and the Student Princes have followed that by winning 37 games over the past 2 seasons.
