As Jesus explained, the Law, the Prophets, and the Writings testify of Him — His birth, ministry, death, resurrection, and future reign. There are over four hundred and fifty-six verses containing prophecies about the Messiah in the Hebrew Scriptures. Many of those prophecies are about Christ’s birth. Using the threefold division of the Hebrew Scriptures, modern believers can view Christmas through the Hebrew Scriptures. For example, Christmas in the Law focuses upon four prophecies — the Seed of the Woman, the Seed of Abraham, the Scepter of Judah, and the Star of Jacob. The prophecies of Christmas in the Hebrew Scriptures continue in the Writings. Notably, the Writings focus on two prophecies — the Son of God and the Seventy Weeks.
