The Epistle of Jude is a follow up to Peter’s second epistle. While the specific readers are not mentioned based on the similarities between 2 Peter and Jude it can be deduced that the original readers were the saints scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. Whereas, Peter has warned them that false teachers were coming, Jude writes because the false teachers have crept in unnoticed (Jude 4). Jude present four charges against the false teachers. First, they were marked out for condemnation. Second, they were ungodly persons. Third, they were twisting the grace of our God into licentiousness. Fourth, they were denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. Hence, Jude charges believers to contend earnestly for the faith (Jude 3).
