The rejection of Jesus by His neighbors and family is a new low. Those who knew Jesus best, watched Him grow, and worked alongside Him denied His deity. Jesus’ neighbors rejected His words and works, proving His deity. They refused to accept that God would come as an ordinary stonemason. His neighbors raised questions about the legitimacy of His birth to discredit His claims of deity. Because of unbelief, the people denied Jesus’ deity. Previously, in Matthew 10:33, Jesus promised, “Whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.” How many Nazarenes were eternally damned at that moment because they were settled in their denial and refused to repent?
