Having pronounced a woe oracle against the false teachers in Jude 11-13, Jude now looks back to the past for a prophecy about the future in Jude 14-16. Jude goes back to perhaps the earliest prophet in Scripture, Enoch. In verve fourteen, Jude looks back to Enoch’s prophecy about the Second Coming. He then provides three reasons for the Second Coming in verse fifteen — to execute judgment upon all, to convict the ungodly of their works, and to convict the ungodly of their words. These three reasons form the ninth triad of the epistle. Finally, in verse sixteen, Jude provides three more charges against the false teachers — they are complain and grumble, follow their lust, and speak arrogant and flattering words. These three charges form the tenth triad of Jude’s epistle.
