In James 5:7-11, he exhorts believers to endure injustice and oppression patiently. As Hans Küng stated, “Jesus did not set in motion a social/political revolution; what He set going was a non-violent revolution, emerging from man’s heart, from a radical change in man’s thinking, from a conversion.” James’ exhortation to patiently endure injustice and oppression springs forth from James 1:2-4 — “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
