Believers should not easily dismiss Jude 1 and 2 as merely an opening greeting to an epistle. As Paul told Timothy, in 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training.” These two verse contain a treasure trove of theological truths. Believers would also do well to remember that Jude wrote these theological treasures to ordinary Christians. He did not write to seminarians but to scattered and suffering saints. To the scattered and suffering, these nuggets of theological gold sustained them in their darkest hours. They are the called, loved, and kept and are receiving an abundance of mercy, peace, and love.
