Believers need not be discouraged by the seeming prosperity of false teachers. As Jude demonstrated in verses five through seven, God’s judgment against false teachers is certain. Since God judged the wicked throughout history, He most certainly will judge them in the future. Jude has already stated that the false teachers “were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation” (Jude 4).
The reason they are already doomed to judgment is that they are “ungodly person who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ” (Jude 4). If there is any doubt that the false teachers are doomed to God’s judgment, Jude provides three more charges against false teachers, in Jude 8-10 — they defile the flesh, they reject authority, and they revolve angelic majesties.
