After 35 years in the classroom, Jane Schmidt will be a full time administrator with the Maquoketa Community School District (Iowa) where she will serve as Director of Professional Growth and Student learning with a focus on curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Her teaching experiences span grade K-grade 9 beginning in special education and moving into literacy and language arts with a focus on writing. She has been honored to serve as the 2014 Iowa Teacher of the Year, and during this past year on sabbatical made a visit to every county in the state to tell the stories of district Points of Pride.
