What is your love language? Nearly 30 years ago, Gary Chapman wrote the book The 5 Love Languages that proposes the way we like to receive love is how we also give love. Those love languages are acts of service, words of affirmation, gift-giving, physical touch and quality time. My love language is words of affirmation. You may think I’m weird, but I actually have kept every one of the encouragement cards that I have received in my 25 years of ministry. I pull those out when I am going through a hard time and remember those who sought to build courage into me as that is the definition of “encourage.” 

You might think, “Jon, that may work for you but words of affirmation are not my love language. Do I need to spend much time encouraging others?” Regardless of whether it is your love language or not, Hebrews 3:13 commands us to “encourage one another.” Come and find out why this Sunday when we study this verse!
