Journalist and Bengaluru's slang specialist Ikyatha Yerasala (@slangaluru) joins host Pavan Srinath to reminisce about the 'good old days' of Bangalore.

If you have grown up in Bengaluru back when it was still called Bangalore, then you might have looked back with nostalgia towards the good old days. Bengaluru of the 1990s and the early 2000s has a special place for many people. The time, the food, the shops, the sounds and the lingo from that era all define Bengaluru for lakhs of people. This was also an era before endless traffic, potholes, pollution and the city going Bruhat.

On Episode 111 of the Thale-Harate Kannada Podcast, Ikyatha Yerasala talks to host Pavan Srinath about the sights, the sounds, the slang — and most importantly the foods that defined the childhood days of a whole generation of Bangaloreans. They also explore how society might have evolved for the better, even while indulging in dollops of nostalgia.

Ikyatha Yerasala is a freelance journalist and true blue Bangalorean who took her love for the city to social media and started Slangaluru, an Instagram and Twitter page dedicated to showing the world the quirkiness of her hometown's colloquial lingo, culture and more.
