Rule of Law affects each one of us every day. It is not the exclusive domain of lawyers and judges. Well functioning judiciary is important to maintaining Rule of Law. Problems of pendency and long time taken for rendering justice by the Indian judiciary is well known. In this introductory episode, Surya Prakash gives an overview of the judiciary and its structure. He also shares findings from the research by DAKSH that highlight the problems citizens face in obtaining justice.
