In 2004, I started submitting short stories to magazines. I continued into 2005, but when I started podcasting, I stopped sending in stories. This past November, I did my own version of NaNoWriMo and decided to write at least 2,000 words a day. Unemployment during most of the month helped me reach my goal, and I ended up with over 20 short stories. They're mostly, if not all, science fiction, and I've just started editing and submitting them. I sent the first one to theMagazine of Fantasy and Science Fictionlast week, and today I sent one to theWriter's of the Futurecontest. It's good to have stories out there again. My goal is to make 36 submissions this year, but I think I'll go well beyond that.
