Do you deal with trauma in your home?

If you’re an adoptive mom, the answer is yes. I know, you’re probably thinking “I got my kid as a newborn, we’re all they’ve ever known.” but the body remembers, and there will still be trauma there. As we learn more and more about our brains and how trauma affects them and when it affects them, we begin to realize how aware we should be to our kids’ needs in this area and how best to meet those needs.

This episode will be the first of 3 episodes fully and completely on different types of trauma disorders that our kids can struggle with. This episode in particular is discussing trauma disorders stemming from pre-natal dug exposer, alcohol use leading to fetal alcohol syndrome, and in-utero physical abuse. Who better to talk about these things than a neonatal expert?
