This is what happened to filmmaker Ines Johnson-Spain, who grew up in East Berlin in the 1960s. In her documentary "Becoming Black," Johnson-Spain tracks the astonishing strategies of denial from her childhood and documents finding her Togolese family. Johnson-Spain talks about her experiences and the film.
