Robyn Doolittle: Why Can't Women Make it to the C-Suite? - a podcast by TVO | Steve Paikin

:: ::

More than two years ago, investigative journalist Robyn Doolittle and a small team at the Globe and Mail set out to determine why a wage gap between men and women in Canada still exists 70 years after legislation calling for equal pay for equal work. Instead they found that inequity goes deeper than that - women are stalling in middle management, not making it to plum top-earning job status. But more than that, they are outnumbered in decision-making positions in a number of public entities that are instrumental in the lives of Canadian, such as provincial governments, municipalities, universities, and publicly-owned corporations. She speaks to Steve Paikin about the investigation's methodology, it's conclusions, and how the pandemic is worsening future prospects for women.
