Because I spent over 13 years focused solely on the chiropractic profession, and over 5 years of those 13 focused specifically on women in chiropractic, I wasn’t aware of how high burnout is in so many of our like-minded professions.

As I have more and more conversations (and also looked at peer-reviewed research articles on the topic), I’ve been surprised to learn that we chiropractors aren’t alone.

People who work as care providers are at high risk of burnout.

People who work in healthcare are at an especially high risk of burnout.

And women who work in these professions AND have children are likely at an even higher risk of burnout.

Burnout is so much more than just not feeling excited about your work any more.

It’s the final phase of General Adaptation Syndrome--the Exhaustion Phase.

Burnout can have a serious impact on not only a person’s earning potential but also their long-term health.

In this episode of the podcast, Leslie Cornwell shares about her own experience with burnout in the midwifery profession, how she created a more sustainable business model and why she helps others in the profession with this as well.
