With an unexpected crowd at the Tearoom, and Harrison’s willing assistance not quite hitting the mark, reluctant Fallon calls on Jennifer to lend a hand. Jennifer arrives and has a lot to say. She’s capable and efficient but the ultimate back seat driver for Fallon and Emma. Afterwards they admit to Jennifer they’d have been lost without her. When she asks if she was too bossy, they chorus of course not. Jennifer’s been pleased of the distraction. Alice comes home tomorrow. Fallon has a thought: she’s meant to be judging some of the bakes at the Flower & Produce, but something’s come up. Might Jennifer like to step in? Later Jennifer announces she’ll do it. The Show means a lot to her, and although Brian thinks she has enough on her plate, she feels it gives her hope that things might be alright and she’ll be free to do it. After she’s gone Fallon admits to Harrison there was no other commitment – she offered the judging to Jennifer to take her mind off things. Harrison loves Fallon for her generosity.
Exhausted Adam takes over childcare duty from Ian. But he falls asleep on the sofa and Ian discovers Xander’s been in the kitchen, helping himself to the knife drawer. Ian’s furious, and Adam’s apologetic. Ian relents; he can see Adam’s tired, they’ll work it out. Adam pledges to mitigate the tiredness by getting more rest, and promises it will ease once he gets used to his new job and the commute. This won’t happen again.
