Rex is having no luck looking for land to rent as a plan B in case his council farm application falls through. Phoebe crosses her fingers for him. They set off to see the ecological consultant, who’s joining them for a survey of the rewilding land. Then they go on to look at the potential spot for the campsite. As they weigh up the pros and cons of a site, Rex gets a message from another council farm applicant who’s been turned down for the council farm. Less competition, speculates Rex. Phoebe’s not sure. She’s proved right when Rex receives a call to say he too has been turned down. Now what? Phoebe half-heartedly suggests some of the rewilding land but they both know that’s a non-starter. He’s snappy with Phoebe, who takes offence.

Martha gets the all clear to be taken home. Alice admits to the doctor that she feels hesitant. Chris insists Alice will be fine. She has a support network in place. There’s no way she’s going to blow it now. Away from the doctor Alice admits it’s a shock to be going home so soon – but she’s fine, the cravings have gone, she insists. Later stressed Chris snaps at Alan’s offer of a listening ear. Chris takes back what he’d said to Alan before about fearing hating Alice. Alan probes gently, and Chris admits his reaction to Alice opening up to him is worrying him. Alan suggests being angry might be more comfortable than being scared. Chris appreciates Alan’s concern, but he just needs to go home and be a good husband and father.
