Adam asks Justin a question. If someone – hypothetically – was to put in a tender for the Home Farm contract, what could they offer that would prove tempting to Borchester Land? Sharp Justin rumbles Adam in no time, and asks if he’s thinking of going it alone. Adam quickly covers, assuring Justin that he and Brian aren’t going their separate ways. Justin’s glad – it’s their partnership element that works so well for BL. They know Adam’s a safe pair of hands. Justin affirms that there’s no worry that Home Farm is about to be undercut. The other farmers in the area know Brian too well – Brian could make life very difficult for a rival. Adam thanks Justin for his thoughts.
Neil and Shula work in the garden while he waits for Keira to finish her riding lesson. Neil admits he could do with a break at the moment. Even this weeding seems attractive! Shula acknowledges the stress his family’s under. Their chat’s interrupted by a downpour and they run inside. Soaked through, they’re drying off when Alistair drops in. Neil’s wearing some of Dan’s old clothes, and through fits of giggles they try to explain to Alistair what’s happened. Awkwardly he comes to the rescue with more spare clothes. Later Alistair believes he detected a spark, and a radiance on Shula’s face. She denies this as preposterous – she and Neil are just friends. Alistair’s concerned people might get the wrong idea. Riled Shula accuses him of jealousy, and he backs off. Shula asserts Alistair couldn’t be more wrong.
