Today we speak about our grief journey. We are days before the second anniversary date of Pauls disappearance. Grief comes in all shapes and sizes. It holds a myriad of emotions and there isn't one perfect way to navigate it. Going through loss of any kind is a labyrinth. You have to figure it out like a riddle. The one thing we all share in common is the fact that it changes who we are. No one comes out the other side the same way they went in. And it becomes a scar that we carry forever. Anniversary dates, places, songs, smells, people, can trigger our scar and activate it. We visit our emotions, honor the pain, and then hopefully emerge into the new life we have created around it.

Today we dive back into the wound, reflect on the growth, gifts, and blessings, and honor the impossible yet very possible landscape that has become our new normal. Ashlee beautifully articulates her emotions, feelings, and possibilities for a bright future. She speaks about parenting an infant and now toddler through the process. We hope this real and raw episode offers insights that you can pull from. We understand that loss, grief, and pain is like a chameleon, ever-changing and unpredictable. Perhaps that is why we find moments of magic in the dark. You have to squint harder to see and use all of your other senses like a razor focus to survive. From that place, we believe that we fine-tune our ability to expand through the shadow.

To any of you suffering, we see you. We love you, and we will continue to offer conversations in hopes of being the tiniest little flicker of hope in the darkest of times. This is what we call the Art Of Joy.

As always we would be nowhere without our editor Daniel Steiner. He edits our podcasts like a true pro. We are so thankful for him and his talents.
