Hey, I’m Jimbo, just your everyday auto-detailing professional with a soft spot for shiny cars and a sense of community. It all began on a regular afternoon; I was detailing a car in my studio, my hands coated im someone else’s mess, and my mind wandering to the intricate world of auto detailing, while listening to the audio book on Elon Musk. I started pondering about the thousands like me, passionate about auto detailing, but maybe lacking a space to share, learn, and bond over it. The person sick and tired of the Reddit and Facebook groups filled with drama and questionable advice.

 

So I was detailing this car, right, and I had to pause the book because I’m thinking, “What if there was a place, a community where people like me, professional detailers, those just starting, season vets and just people who like detailing like a pro could share insights, advice, and support, all while having a good laugh?” It was then, amidst the bottles, brushes, extension cords, lights, sweat and dirt, that the idea of the Detailing Discord was born.

 

I envisioned it as a relaxed, inclusive space where we could swap detailing tips, troubleshoot problems, brainstorm on marketing strategies, and share social media post ideas. But more importantly, a space where we could celebrate each other’s wins, be it a perfectly coated car or a newly acquired client.

I also aimed to make this space not just informative, but also enjoyable! I wanted to foster an environment where everyone could engage in friendly banter and feel at ease experimenting with new ideas, even if uncertain about the outcomes. Thus, I initiated free giveaways, hosted playful challenges, and orchestrated Q&A sessions, all underlined by a spirit of camaraderie and mutual respect.

 

And here we are now, the Detailing Discord, a tight-knit community of auto detailing aficionados, exchanging knowledge and experiences, providing a helping hand, and sharing a chuckle or two. Whether it’s the triumph over stubborn rock hard paint that we can’t get just right or a creative marketing breakthrough, we’re here to rally around each other, making our detailing journeys a bit brighter and a whole lot shinier!
