On this edition of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, Mike and Smitty recall their days in Junior High and High School, when they took shop classes. For most boys, taking a shop class was a welcome break from the academic part of school. The ability to go to one of the shops, be it wood, metal, electric, graphic arts, or auto shop, and get our hands dirty and create something or repair a radio, print a poster, or tune up an engine gave us a whole new experience in education. Working with our hands, learning to use tools, and learning new skills stayed with us and we relied on a lot of those early experiences the remainder of our lives. We also remember the angst of being afraid of welders, metal cutters, and tools that we were sure we would hurt ourselves with. In spite of this, we learned and benefitted from the Industrial Arts programs that were available in those days. Join us as we recall fun school memories on Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, on the Galaxy Nostalgia Network!
