On this, Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site's 25th program, Ian remembers Broderick Crawford, the actor best known for his role as Chief Dan Matthews on the TV show "Highway Patrol". He also appeared in such films as "Born Yesterday" and "All the King's Men".

Ian tells us about Crawford's life and career. Mike and Smitty talk about the days when you could listen to police calls on home radios. Mike remembers his pocket transistor radio that was set up to receive police calls.

Smitty recalls memories of the early home radios that had a police call listing on the dial. Also remembered are the early scanners and communications receivers that would pick up police and fire calls.

Ian notes the passing of journalist Daniel Schorr, and the Galaxy Gang talk about Schorr's time with Edward R. Murrow and the "Murrow Boys", and about news correspondents during that era.

Our Retro-Commercial is an interesting CBS News commercial with Allan Jackson telling us about CBS Radio News on the hour.
