In this edition of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, Ian Rose gives a salute to Centenarians, famous persons born 100 years ago. Among the personalities Ian remembers are Jacques Cousteau, Norman Corwin, Himan Brown, and Mother Teresa, among others. Mike, Smitty, and Ian discuss whether Ipods, SmartPhones and digital media are killing radio. Also what radio is doing to stay competitive in this digital age. Ian remembers Mitch Miller, the Maestro of the Singalong, who passed away in August 2010. Our Retro-Commercial is a Delta Airlines commercial from 1976, voiced by the legendary NBC announcer Ben Grauer. Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site is the nostalgia show produced in San Diego by three "older" baby-boomers who work in the local radio and TV industry. In these approximately one-half hour shows, The Galaxy Guys chat it up about the music, movies, TV shows, technology and personalities of the 1940s through early 1980s.
