On this episode of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, Mike and Smitty remember the days in school when kids would sell items as fundraisers for their schools. We remember some of the items that were sold, such as nuts, candies, and flower and vegetable seeds, Some of the items were of dubious quality, but we always looked to family and neighbors to help bail us out of the monumental task of selling all that merchandise. Schools utilized the income from these sales to help fund a variety of things back in the day. Next, we look back to the days when we would visit the barber shop on a regular schedule. Both Mike and Smitty have personal recollections of their early years when both their dads were very strict on having their sons have short haircuts. As we got older, those haircuts were not looked forward to, since the style tended to lean toward longer hair lengths. Somehow we survived, and today those memories linger on. Our Retro-Commercial is for the 1958 Oldsmobile car line. Join us on Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, on the Galaxy Nostalgia Network.
