Let's go to the drive-in! On this episode of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, we look back to the golden days of burger joints, drive-ins, and diners. With a resurgence of these drive-in eateries, the memories of days when these restaurants were hang-outs for the school set, and as a fun treat for the family are recalled. The post-war 1950s were a time of prosperity, and the family could be seen almost weekly at one of these fun restaurants. Although the food was always delicious, a great appeal was the architecture of the buildings. Chrome, neon, and glass blocks all added to the excitement of eating out. The hamburger of course was the staple item to order at one of these places, and such other treats as fries, and thick milkshakes and malts were always a big hit. We remember Leonard Nimoy, best remembered as Mr. Spock on the TV series "Star Trek". Mr. Nimoy passed away in February of 2015. His work as a director and writer is also well known, and he is also remembered as the narrator of the TV series "In Search Of", in the 1970s. His body of work continues to live on and will for many more years to come. Our Retro-Commercial is for Banquet Frozen Foods. Join us as we go back to memory lane, here on Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site, on the Galaxy Nostalgia Network!
