Mike, Smitty, and Ian welcome Radio Historian Dave Leonard to Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site. Dave tells us the interesting story of four, Top-40 hits that debuted on San Diego Radio in the days when Top-40 was the thing. Those songs were "California Dreaming", "Wedding Bell Blues", "Maggie May", and "Imagine". Dave tells us how these four songs were debuted and he recalls the important role that the Program Director of the radio stations played in bringing these songs to air. This is something very unlikely to happen today since the radio industry has changed so much in the intervening years. Additionally, Dave remembers the old printed surveys that radio stations distributed weekly. These, along with other collectibles are in demand by enthusiasts today. He also tells us about his great book "Aircheck", and how you can order your own copy. Our Retro-Commercial is a great Pepsodent Toothpaste commercial. Join us on Galaxy Moonbeam Night Si
