This episode of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site finds the Galaxy Good Guys on a road trip to the transmitter facility of radio station KOGO in San Diego. This facility is historic, being built in 1948 toward the end of the Golden Age of Radio, but nevertheless still carrying much historic and quality programming during the past 65 years. The original RCA transmitter is being dismantled and removed from this site. The transmitter's owner, our good friend Scott Rice, visits with us and discusses how he came to own this great piece of broadcast history, why this unit is being removed, and what is to become of it. We also look back at those years when this transmitter was carrying many of the fine programs and great entertainment of a bygone era. A fascinating look into the workings of a vintage radio transmitter and the facility that has housed it for so long. Come along and listen in, on this episode of Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site!
