Supermarionation: The name given to those British animated series of the 1960s that were aimed at kids, but also found an audience among adults. Gerry and Sylvia Anderson were the creators of such well-remembered series as Fireball XL5, Stingray, Supercar, and others. They were not cartoons, but featured marionettes, done in an advanced style. Also, the stories had positive reinforcement and lessons in right vs wrong. The black and white shows featured such themes as space travel and crime-fighting. George and Mike Z tell us all about their memories of these shows. Our Retro-Commercial is for Nabisco's Fig Newtons from 1966. Join us on Galaxy Moonbeam Night Site!
