Welcome to the Best is Yet to Come with Pastor Brad Morgan. This week Pastor Brad begings a teaching on "Elijah The Prophet."

Elijah's story begins in 1 Kings 17 when he proclaimed, “As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”

Pastor Brad continues teaching from 1 Kings 17 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+king+17&version=NKJV). After God spoke the word to Elijah, He told him to go off an hide. Elijah went through some hard times, all the time believing in and listening to God. 

Elijah received unusual provision from unlikely sources. Over time, where Elijah received his provision changed. 

God commanded Elijah to “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” The widow had no idea that she was going to be serving Elijah, or that by doing so, God would change her life and the lives of many around her.  God was telling the widow to give to Him first. God took the little that she had and multiplied it. "For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’” They were sustained for 3 years because she decided to sacrifice and give a small cake. 

Proverbs 3:9-10 says, "Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;

So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine."
