Welcome to the Best is Yet to Come with Pastor Brad Morgan. This week's message continues a series on the Prophet Elisha. Elisha asked for a double portion of Elijah's annointing be given to him.

Elisha recieved a double portion of what the Prophet Elijah had. That was a hard things to ask, but God is okay for us to ask for something that is not easy. But because Elisha was loyal to Elijah, and God had told Elijah that Elisha was going to take up the journey, Elisha received the double portion.

Elisha had earned his credentials. Elisha's double portion came by being willing to serve and sow.

This week's teaching begins in 2 Kings 4:15-31 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+kings+4%3A15-31&version=NKJV). God had given the woman in this story a son, but the son suddenly died. So she, through her husband, sought out the man of God, Elisha.

Elisha sent his servant Gehazi to help the woman. But it appears Gehazi was not yet ready for the task. When Gehazi came back to Elisha and the woman and said, The child has not awakened”. this likely showed that God was trying to transition Gehazi to a different place, but he was not yet ready.

Sometimes in the disconfort of a particular situation, God will show us that it is time to go to a new place. It might not seem logical, but the hand of God moves. When God calls us to go into this place that we have never walked in before, God is teaching us not to lean on the arm of flesh, but lean on Him.
