Finally some baby steps on getting India back to work. The Ministry of Home Affairs, on 15 April, released a set of guidelines indicating how it wants to reopen the economy in the coming days even as the lockdown continues till 3 May.

“...To mitigate hardships to the public, select additional activities will be allowed, which will come into effect from 20th April, 2020,” the guideline reads.

As the country continues with its extended lockdown the burden of a halted economy is being felt across all sectors — especially on the agricultural and the MSME sectors. And even as the coronavirus infections rise, people will have to get back to work bit by bit.

So what do the guidelines say on how India is going to kickstart the economy from 20 April? Which sectors will be reopening? What is allowed, what is not? What should be expected? To deep dive into these questions, we spoke to Dilip Chinoy the Secretary General of the FICCI. Tune in!
