The 1972 Munich Olympics was a watershed moment in world history. Black September took 11 Israeli athletes hostage and the result was not as the Germans would have hoped, “nobody wanted dead Jews in Germany.” As a 9 year old boy, I was faced with who my parents were, specifically my dad. It was the first time I had to admit to myself that yes, I was “different.” As life went on, there were a lot of things I had to deal with in this regard.
